HOTEL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
The Owners, management and staff of the Crooklands Hotel recognise and accept that the activities involved in running the hotel may have an impact on the environment. In an effort to minimise these effects, the Hotel is committed to a policy of sound and responsible environmental management.This Includes :
· Low energy lighting throughout, with light sensors and timers where appropriate.
· Low flush systems in all the toilets.
· We never knowingly use Genetically Modified Foods.
· All waste collected and where appropriate sent for recycling
· We have a towel re-use policy for guests staying more than one night, this reduces the water and detergent used.
· Environmentally 'friendly' cleaning products used wherever possible.
· Heating and hot water provided by two new A rated boilers (approximately 96-98% efficient).
· Recycled paper is used in stationery as well as for facial and toilet tissues where ever possible. Staff awareness and training with regard to enviromental issues in the workplace.

At Crooklands we are committed to working in a sustainable way. We are undertaking the following actions to achieve this. We comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice. We continue to improve our environmental policies. We raise awareness to staff and visitors to our hotel, encouraging them to help us continue with our sustainable practices. We minimise the impact our business has on the environment. We have joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme as an indication of our commitment to sustainable practices.
